J. David Swartley, MBA, NHA
Unitas Communities, President & CEO
David Swartley, MBA, NHA, became Unitas Communities President & CEO effective November 1, 2023. David holds a B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from Eastern Mennonite University, an MBA in Finance from Temple University, and a Nursing Home Administrator License. David joined Moravian Manor Communities (MMC) in 1991, serving in varying positions of Controller, VP of Financial Services, and Executive Vice President. In 2008, he was named President & CEO of MMC. David currently serves as President & CEO for Unitas Communities. David also is a current board member of Hospice & Community Care, Lititz recCenter, and CARE.
Christopher Hunt
Unitas Communities, Chief Financial Officer
Christopher Hunt is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and has over 30 years of accounting and finance experience in the long-term care, insurance and consumer finance industries. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Unitas Communities, an affiliation of Morningstar Senior Living and Moravian Manor Communities. Christopher is a 2015 graduate of the LeadingAge Leadership Academy and prior to the affiliation, was employed by Morningstar Senior Living as Chief Financial Officer since March 2008.
Richard Jackson

Rick Jackson retired in 2024 as Vice President of Landscape Architecture at ELA Group, Inc. He currently serves on the Unitas Communities and Moravian Manor Communities Boards and is Past Co-Chair of Tenfold/Tenfold Community Lending. Rick was instrumental in the Coalition for Sustainable Housing and volunteered as a “Partner4Place” in implementing Places2040, Lancaster County’s Comprehensive Plan. He has long been active with the Urban Land Institute, the Lancaster County BIA, and the Commercial & Industrial Real Estate Council. Rick is a Past President of both the BIA and the Coalition for Smart Growth and has served on the boards of the Lancaster County Coalition to End Homelessness and the Lancaster County Convention Center Authority.
Cindy Meier

Moravian Manor Communities, Executive Director
Cindy Meier joined Moravian Manor Communities in 1997 and has held various positions including Staff Accountant, Business Office Manager, Controller, and Vice President of Finance. In her current role as Executive Director, Cindy is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Moravian Manor Communities’ operations, including strategic planning, financial management, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services. Since 2016, Cindy has served on the Board of Your Neighborhood Connection. She has served on the Board of Linden Hall School for Girls since 2020 on the Finance and Future Forward Committees.
